Fiona wins Euro C/C.

The Irish Prison Service had a team in Antrim for the 16th European Prison Service Cross Country Championships. This year there was 7 countries represented. Fiona Moran and Bernard Quinn from Bray Runners were part of the Irish team.
Ireland finished 2nd team and we also had the winners in the O/40 & O/50 Men also O/40 & O/45 Ladies.
The O/45 ladies winner was our own Fiona Moran. Fiona has been working very hard over the past few weeks, especially at our thursday night training sessions.

The ladies race was 3.5 miles over a 3 lap course and the men's race was over 5 laps, just short of 10k, the course was ok, except for one field of about 400m, which was very soggy.

We were very proud of our team and the individual performances.

Another good turnout in Ballywaltrim this evening, 26 in all. 2 groups, Denis led one group and 2nd group, Dermots group, both did a 50 minute fartleg session. Next weeks session will be 1k repeats. The group were reminded that the 5k annual Club H/cap will take place on thursday 6th This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. in Ballywaltrim.Presentation of prizes and Christmas drinks will take place on thursday 13th Dec in Duffs, Main ST. Bray (opposite McDonalds). The format for the H/cap is that runners start in order of ability, with the fastest runner starting last. The hope, if the handicapper gets it right, is that all runners should finish close to each other. We normally get a great turnout, so hopefully this year will be no differant.

Our Chairperson, on behalf of the committee and members would like to wish all our athletes taking part in the Leinster C/C, in Avondale, and Dublin Marathon, including pacers, the very best of luck.
