Clonliffe Harriers 5k 2017

Well done to all our athletes who took part in the the Clonliffe Harriers 5k on 31st Dec. 
Another fine run from Ian McGrath saw him finish in 12th place and 1st 0/40 in a time of 16.56. Joe Cawley ran 17.59 to finish 23rd 0/A and 3rd 0/40. Sandra Brady ran 25.45, Elaine Casey ran 26.27, Dolores Gililland ran a season's best of 26.52, Jackie O'Neill ran 29.10 and Colette Mason also ran 29.10. All times are gun times.


Congratulations to the Foot Family who finished 2nd in the Fastest Family Category in the recent Streets of Wicklow 5k.

Streets of Wicklow 5k 2017

Great running from all our Bray Runners who took part in the annual St Stephen's Day Streets of Wicklow 5k. 
Ian McGrath ran an excellent 16.33 was 6th overall and 1st 0/40.
Dominic Horan was 14th O/A and 1st 0/50 in 17.18. Joe Cawley was 24th 0/A and 1st 0/45 in a time of 17.47. Suzanne Foot was 1st 0/45 in 20.40. Mary Deery ran 27.10 and was 1st 0/60.
Gordon McWilliams was 2nd 0/50 in 18.10. Will Foot was 3rd 0/40 in 18.36.
Fine runs also from Elaine Casey 26.03, Mark Kierans 25.58 and Mary O'Connor 26.50. .
Great running also from our younger crew, James 18.44, Elanor 22.15, Joe 23.31, Hannah 24.42, Ronan 25.41, Seamus 25.59 and Liam 31.55. 
Well done also to our good friends Eddie McGrath 18.26 3rd 0/50 and Leo Mather 27.41.

Colette Mason Wins Club 5k C/ship

Congratulations to COLETTE MASON who was the winner of our Club 5k H/cap earlier this evening. We had 30 athletes take part, all recording excellent times, many recording Pbs. 
Colette finished 7seconds ahead of the fast finishing Paul Gannon with Dave Carraher, also finishing fast, a further second back. The first 3 across the line all recorded Pbs.
Stephen O'Kennedy 17.17, Dominic Horan 17.42 and Paul Allen 17.49 recorded the fastest times on the night. Paul breaking 18minutes for the first time.

Although we had a presentation of prizes on the night, the main trophy is going in for a makeover and is being renamed The Sean Clifford Trophy, it will be officially presented to our winner Colette at our Awards Night, later in the year.

Well done to all Bray Runners and our fellow Sli Cualann athletes who took part in the Frank Duffy 10ml on Saturday 26th Aug. Great times and Pbs recorded. Really great to see Helen Barry not only back racing but also winning her age category. Mark Duncan also had a great run, knocking over 3 minutes off his previous best.

Fine run from Ashling Smith at the Claregalway 10k on Saturday 26th Aug. Ashling, despite being in recovery mode since her return from European Masters, ran 42.22 to finish 5th woman home. The race was won by Kenneth Rodgers, St Johns AC, in 32.02. First woman home was Dee Grady, Ennis Track AC, in 38.51 Full results at; http://www.redtagtiming.com/results/Claregalway10km20

At the Tara AC 5k  on Friday evening, 25th Aug, Richard Kavanagh ran 21.10 and won 0/60 cat. The race was won by Brian McCluskey, North East Runners, in 16.09. Sli Cualann Race Series

Slí Cualann Autumn Race Series 2017
Slí Cualann is running an Autumn race series of short races for members and other runners. The dates and venues are:

Greystones: 2 miles, Wednesday 23rd August, 2017, Registration 7.00 pm at Shoreline, Race 7.30 pm
Bray (Shanganagh Park): 3 km, Wednesday 6th September, 2017, Registration at 7.00 pm, Race at 7.30 pm
Wicklow Town: Thursday 19th October, 2017, Details TBC
Rathdrum (Avondale) Trail run, Sunday 19th November, 2017, Details TBC

Entry fee: 5 Euro per race

National Half Marathon

Well done to all Bray Runners and Sli Cualann athletes who took part in the National Half Marathon on Sunday 13th August. 
Michael Knight ran a new Pb of 1.32.09 and was 5th in 0/60 Category. Elaine Casey, continued her fine season, running a new Pb of 1.57.14. Dario Zanchetta, ran 2.05.15 in his first half marathon.
