At the Dublin Graded T/F meeting on 19th July, Ashling Smith ran her final prep race before she heads to the European Masters T/F C/ships. Ashling, clearly in great form, once again broke her 1500mtr Pb, running an excellent 5min 4sec.
It was a great night for Bray Runners at the Bettystown 5ml. We had 5 athletes take part, in what is a fine race, run over a tough but fair 5ml course. There are prizes for the first 6 male and female athletes and 1st and 2nd in all age categories. Stephen O'Kennedy ran a new Pb of 28.15 and finished in an excellent 6th place. Suzanne Foot was also in fine form, finishing 4th in the womens race in a time of 31.56.
Jean O'Kennedy, final race before she heads off to European Masters Half Marathon, ran 35.43 and was 1st in her age Category. Noelle Thorpe, getting back to her best, finished 2nd in her age Cat, in a time of 36.40. Richard Kavanagh, ran 34.19 and was 1st in 0/60 Cat.
The icing on the cake came though when Suzanne, Jean and Noelle were announced as winners of the Womens Team Competition. Well done to all.
Freddie Keron, 24.38, was 1st home and Niamh Devlin was 1st woman in 29.36.
