Coca's 5K 2019

Well done to all our athletes and our good friend Dessie Shorten who took part in the Cocas 5k earlier this evening. Paul Allen continued his amazing run, smashing yet another Pb, Paul ran 16.36, knocking 20 seconds off his previous best, recorded just 4 weeks ago. Not to be outdone Garrett Kelly also smashed his Pb, running 17.31, 26 seconds off his previous best.

Helen Murphy also recorded a new Pb, Helen ran an excellent 20.08. Jason O'Connor and Siobhan Butler both recorded Season's Best, Jason running 21.26 and Siobhan running 21.47. Gerry Keaty ran a tidy 20.50 and Paul Gannon was pleased with his 24.04. Great run from Dessie Shorten who ran 19.00 and was 1st in his age Category. Great running from all.

Clonee 10K 2019

Well done to our athletes who took part in the Clonee 10k on the evening of 27th June. Michael Knight ran a fine 43.05 and was 1st 0/65. Bernard Quinn ran 44.48 and was 3rd 0/65.

Great to see Ciara Carter back racing, and running a very good 47.41. Great run from our good friend Cathy Mitchell who ran 45.43 and won her age category. Well done also to Grainne Butler who ran a fine 47.00.

Dunshaughlin 10K 2019

Great turnout of Bray Runners and Sli Cualann athletes at the Dunshaughlin 10k on Saturday 22nd June. Excellent times recorded, Pbs, Sbs and a few category prizes as well. 


Ian McGrath continued his fantastic season running 32.48 and was 2nd 0/45. Darren Cullen ran an excellent 34.45 closely followed by Paul Allen in 35.16, an incredible 1min 59 sec off his previous best. Not to be outdone Garrett Kelly ran a new Pb of 37.02, which is 3mins 8sec off his previous best. Joe Kelly, running his first race in quite a while, ran a fine 38.50. Suzanne Foot ran 40.34 and was 3rd 0/45 and Bill Stanley ran 42.21. Karol O'Loinsigh was another to run a Pb, recording 43.07

Richard Kavanagh ran 43.32, 2nd 0/65, ( Paul Elliot was 1st 0/65 in a new Irish record of 38.32). Fine run from Siobhan Butler 46.03, 7th 0/50 and her best 10k in over 2 years. Great run from Sharon Bailey, 47.04 a new Pb by almost 1 minute. Dillon O'Neill ran 47.29, going very well to 7k but fell ill at that stage and had to jog home. Paul Gannon 50.48 and Peter Doran 52.52 were very happy with their times. Sandra Brady ran 53.49, 6th 0/55 and her best 10k in over 2 years. Mary O'Connor, 56.44, 9th 0/55 and ran her 2nd fastest 10k. Fine run from Jackie O.Neill, 61.20, tantalisingly close to recording a new PB.

The Sli Cualann men's team finished in 7th place, (Ian, Darren, Paul Allen and Robert Murphy) from 59 teams. The Sli Cualann women's team (Suzanne Foot, Siobhan Butler and Lynne Duffy) finished 8th from 67 Teams.  Congratulations to Fionnuala McCormack who was 1st woman home in Dunshaughlin in a time of 32.17, a new course record. Congratulations also go to Sarah Baryga, who was 1st woman home in the Waterford Marathon, Sat 22nd June, in a very impressive 2.58.50. 

Well done to everyone who took part, great running.

Docklands 5K

At the Docklands 5k, fine runs from both Lee Borland and Gerard Keaty. Lee recorded 20.42, and Gerard ran 21.26. Well done to both. Well done also to our fellow Sli Cualann athlete, Des Shorten who ran an impressive 19.19 to win his age category.

National 5 Mile Championships

Congratulations to all our athletes, Sli Cualann and County athletes who took part in the National 5mile C/ships on Saturday 15th June. Great run from Darren Cullen, who ran 27.36 and was 13th Senior Men, Paul O'Brien ran a new Pb of 27.59 and was 4th 0/40. Paul Allen continued his fine form also running a new Pb of 28.10 and was 5th 0/40. Garrett Kelly ran a Pb of 29.55. Jean O'Kennedy ran 36.05 and was 2nd in her age Category, adding another National medal to her collection. Caroline McBride, 43.13 was another to run a Pb. 


Well done also to our fellow Sli Cualann athletes, Catherine O'Connor 30.40 and 3rd woman overall. William Belton 35.33 and 3rd in his age Cat. Emily Ryan 34.56, Carol Costello 35.43 and Debbie Griffin 36.26, great running from all. The Sli Cualann women's team finished in an excellent 2nd place.
Well done to our good friends Eddie McGrath who ran 29,59 and Ian Egan who ran 29.14 and was 3rd in his age Cat.


Earlier in the week Bernard Quinn finished 2nd 0/65, running 22,28 at the OPW 5k Trail race, which is held in the Phoneix Park. Well done to all our athletes who took part in the Shanganagh Parkrun, which included a fine new Pb of 18.41 from Conor Boyle.

Wicklow SuperHero 10K 2019

At the Wicklow Super Hero 10k on Sunday 9th June, Paul Gannon ran 54.30 and Mary Deery ran 57.59 and was 1st in her age category.
Well done to all who took part in Saturday's parkrun in Shanganagh, which included a fine run from Liz Melican, 25.52, a new Pb and first time to break 26.

Our Club was founded in 1983 primarily as a marathon running club, however over the years we have introduced a juvenile section and cover a wide range of athletic disciplines.
