Leeinster Novice and Masters Road C/Ships.

It was a great day for our athletes and Sli Cualann athletes at yesterday's Leinster Novice and Masters Road C/Ships which were held in Gowran, Co Kilkenny. In the womens Novice event Claire O'Callaghan, Glendalough AC, ran a fine race to finish in an excellent 12th place. In the womens race Suzanne Foot finished in 3rd place overall and took the silver medal in the O/40 category. Ashling Smith finished 6th overall and took the bronze medal in the O/40 category. Anne Marie Kenny, Parnell AC, finished 11th overall and 4th in O/40 category. The 3 girls formed the Sli Cualann F35-49 team who finished 2nd in the club team event, just pipped by an excellent Portlaoise AC team.

Jean O'Kennedy, running a distance not to her liking, finished in bronze medal position in the 0/50 category, a mere 16 seconds away from gold. Dolores Gilliland, made a brave defence of the title she won in 2014, in finishing in bronze medal position in O/55 category, a fine effort considering the injury problems she has had of late. BB Kenny, Parnell AC, also ran an excellent race and won the silver medal in the O/55 category. BB, Jean and Dolores also took the Silver medal for Sli Cualann in the F50+ Category.

In the mens race, Dominic Horan continued his return to full fitness with a fine run to finish in 26th place overall in what was a top class race.  Mick Byrne ran his usual excellent race, 12th place o/a and gold O/50. There was also excellent performances from all of the Sli Cualann mens team, official results to follow.   

Gold for Ashling, Neil wins Leixlip, Colm sets new PB in Tallaght.

At Friday's Wicklow T/F C/Ships, Ashling Smith added another medal to her ever growing haul over the past few months. Ashling won the Womens 1500mtrs title in an excellent 5mins 11 sec.

 Neil Wikotrski, continued his comeback from injury, in winning the Leixlip 5k in a time of 16.23, on Saturday 2nd May, in conditions that were far from perfect for fast times. First woman home was Michelle Cox, Newbridge AC, in a time of 18.29. Another fine run over the weekend was recorded by Colm O'Heigeartaigh in the Tallaght AC 5k. Colm ran a new PB of 18.22. The race was won by Thomas Fitzpatrick, Tallaght AC, in 14.37. Fit4life Mile. 30th April

Well done to all our athletes who took part in the Fit4life Mile, which was held in Greystones, last night, Thursday 30th April. Dominic Horan was our fastest athlete on the night, running 5.06 and was 1st O/45. Bill Stanley was 2nd O/45 in 5.09. Tom Kavanagh was 1st O/55 in a fine time of 619. Siobhan Butler, 6.45, was 1st O/45, closely followed by Charlotte Stevens, 6.51, who was 1st O/55. Andrea Murphy, 6.56, was 2nd O/40, Emer Hynes, ran 7.12, which put her in 2nd O/45. Dolores Gilliland was 1st O/55 in a time of 7.23, with Cara Barry very pleased with her 8..07. Angela Groome and Rachel Daly both recorded a time of 8.09. Stefanie Unland was well pleased with her 9.16.

Tim Grummel recorded the fastest time on the night, an excellent 4.48 with Claire O'Callaghan fastest lady on the night, running a fine 5.59. Well done to all who took part.

Samsung Night Run

Congratulations goes to our new recruit, Paul Allen. Paul ran a smashing 38.02, in the Samsunk 10k Night Run, his first race as a Bray Runner. Joe Kelly, 39.02, fine time as Joe returns to racing. Ana Molina also had a fine run, 59.10, Well done in dipping under the hour mark again Ana.

Fit4life Mile, Thursday30th April

If any of our athletes intend taking part in Wicklow T/F, C/Ships on Friday next 1st May, Seniors/Masters 1500 mtrs please let us know as entries close tomorrow 27th April.
Leinster Road C/Ships, Novice and Masters, Monday May 4th, again if intending taking part please let us know asap. We have a good number already committed to taking part.

Our Club was founded in 1983 primarily as a marathon running club, however over the years we have introduced a juvenile section and cover a wide range of athletic disciplines.
