Leinster 10ml C/ships

Congratulations to Charlotte Stevens who finished 2nd in her age cat in a time of 80.22 at the Leinster 10ml C/ships, which were held on Easter Monday 17th April. Well deserved silver medal for Charlotte.
Well done also to our fellow Sli Cualann and County athletes who took part. Catherine O'Connor, 67.12; Ann Marie Kenny, 68.31 and Ashling Kirwan, 69.09, finished 1st, 2nd and 3rd in their age cat., and William Belton won his age Category. Well done also to Donna Quinn who was 2nd in her age Cat in a time of 70,01.

National 10k C/ships, Sunday 9th April

Congratulations go to Jean O'Kennedy who won Bronze, in her age category, at the National 10k C/ships, which were held on Sunday 9th April. Jean ran a fine 46,15. Charlotte Stevens, 48.39, also had a fine run, finishing 6th in age Cat. Well done Mark Duncan who ran a new Pb of 51.59.
We send our congratulations to Mick Byrne, 35.21, who won Gold in the M55 cat. Great runs also from some more Sli Cualann athletes, Catherine O'Connor 40.13, Ann Marie Kenny 40,29, 4th and 5th in Cat. and MJ O'Neill 39.30 and William McCann 39.39.

Rotterdam Marathon

Congratulations to all our athletes and friends who took part in Rotterdam Marathon and 1/4 Marathon on Sunday 9th April. Firstly we send our best wishes to Dominic who picked a bad injury and was unable to finish. We wish you a speedy recovery.
Gary Condon recorded an excellent 2.30.01, a new Pb and 1st place in 0/45 category. Gordon McWilliams ran 3.12.25: Georgina Devlin ran 3.27.31; Siobhan Butler ran 3.54.58; Grainne Butler ran 3.59.49; Cathy Mitchell ran 4.07.46 and Bobby Mitchell, doing a bit of pacing, ran 4.07.49
Emer Hynes, ran 58.18 in the 1/4 mar.
Well done to all, great running.

 
 

Wicklow Road Race C/ships

Well done to all our athletes who took part in last night's Wicklow 5k Road Race C/ships.. 
First of our athletes home was Stephen O'Kennedy, 6th place O/A, 2nd Senior Men and a new Pb of 17.10. Colm O'Heigeartaigh also ran a Pb of 17.32 and was 3rd M35. Dominic Horan, final prep race before Rotherdam, ran 17.39 and was 2nd M45. 
Gordon McWilliam, 18.14, also a Pb, was 1st M50. Paul Allen, 18.26 was 4th M35. Joe Kelly, getting back to his best, ran 18.43 and Ashling Smith ran a solid 20.04, coming off the back of a very successful indoor season. Jason O'Connor, getting nearer to his form of last season, ran 20.56, and Tom Cavanagh ran 21.52 and was 3rd M60.
Siobhan Butler, also heading to Rotherdam, 22.10 and 1st W45. Jean O'Kennedy matched her Pb of 22.42 and was 1st W55. Paul Gannon, set a new Pb of 22.58. Noelle Thorpe, making a great recovery from long term injury, ran 23.05 and was 2nd W55. 
Peter Doran 24.39, Emer Hynes 25.40 and Andrea Murphy 25.51, good times from all. Aoife Stokes, running her first ever road race ran 26.36, Mary Deery 26.51, was 2nd W60. Elaine Casey 28.06, Rachel Daly 28.44, and Avril Leonard, running her first race as a Bray Runner ran 28.50. 

Congratulations to our Masters Women 50+ team who won Gold, team was Jean, Noelle and Mary D. Our Masters Women 35/49 team finished 4th, just missing out on Bronze on countback.
Our Masters Men 35/49 finished in a fine 3rd place, team was Colm, Gordon, Dominic, Paul, Joe K and Jason. Masters Men50+ team finished in 4th place. Well done to all who took part, those who helped out and those who came along to support the athletes.

This Tuesday is our last week at Woodbrook College 6:50 - 8:00pm. After that, we will switch to Shanganagh park for the summer months.
 
By popular demand, Friday training will take place from 6:30pm - 7:30pm at the People's park in Bray. This is open to all our juvenile members ages 10+.

Eirgrid Dunboyne 4ml

Great runs from a couple of our athletes at the Eirgrid Dunboyne 4ml., on Sunday 26th March.  Elaine Casey ran a fine 33.16, a Pb. Colm O'Heigeartaigh, as he continues his return from injury, was very happy with his 22.51. Well done to both. The race was won by Mick Clohisey, Raheny Shamrocks, in 18.46 with Ciara Durkin, Skerries AC, first woman home in 22.06. Our Club was founded in 1983 primarily as a marathon running club, however over the years we have introduced a juvenile section and cover a wide range of athletic disciplines.
