At a well attended AGM, 16th Jan., the following Officers and Committee were elected to lead our club through 2014.

At the recent Athletics Wicklow Star Awards Richard Owens was named Senior Athlete of the Year for 2013. Richard had a very successful season culminating in a magnificent performance in the Wicklow Senior C/C Championship in December. Richard was also named as Sli Cualann Athlete of the year.
Today, Sunday 12 Jan., the Ferrycarrig 5mile took place just outside of Wexford town. The course, facilities, stewarding etc., were all excellent, unfortunately the weather wasn't, very wet and very windy. The mens race was won by Mick Clohisey in 24:30, picking up 200 euro 1st prize and 100 euro bonus for breaking the course record. His Dad Vinny, won the O/60 category in 33.13. Jackie Carthy won the womens race in 30:08;
Noelle Thorpe took the O/50 Category in 35.53, with Dolores Gililland 3rd O/50 in a new PB of 39.51. Jason O'Connor also set a new PB of 35.47. Richard Kavanagh was 2nd O/60 in 33.53.
There was a great turnout of over 20 athletes for our first Thursday session of the 2014. Mark Kierans, Sandra Brady, Louise Nolan and Sean Clifford were all making a welcome return to training and we wish them and all our athletes well in 2014. We hope to see as many again next week, if not more. New members always welcome.
Some early season races that are well attended by our athletes are Ferrycarrig 5ml, Sunday 12th Jan, Raheny 5ml, Sunday 26th Jan and Enniscorthy 10k, Sunday 9th Feb.
Thursday training resumes this Thursday, 9th Jan, 6.30 pm, St. Killians College. We have the use of excellent facilities at St Killians, we look forward to seeing as many members as possible on Thursday. New members always welcome.
Our Club was founded in 1983 primarily as a marathon running club, however over the years we have introduced a juvenile section and cover a wide range of athletic disciplines.
