Well it was a 'durty' night but the clubs awards

So without further ado Denis took to the floor and the wait was over.
First up was the Special Merit Award, this award recognises members for their good spirit, enthusiasm and being almost ever present in training, well done to Ana Molina and Elaine Nuzun, very well deserved.

Helen, Des and James Set New Pbs in Dunboyne 5mile

There was some excellent performances from our runners at last nights Dunboyne 5mile . James Nangle, 30.35, set a new Pb, closely followed by Helen Barry, 30.52, also a new Pb, 45 seconds faster than the one she set only 10 days ago in Terenure. Des O,Hare continued his very impressive form by running a new Pb of 31.06, which is an amazing 1 minute 17 seconds off his previous best, set earlier this year. Suzanne Foot, returning to top form, ran 31.39, Cathy Mitchell ran 39.19 and Grainne Cunningham, 39.20, took over a minute off her time in Terenure 5 mile. The race was won by Simon Ryan in 25.00, with Aoife Talty first lady home in 27.18. Well done to all who competed.

Fine Run From Neil in Edinburgh Half Marathon

Neil Wiktorski ran a fine race in the Edinburgh Half Marathon today, 25th May, he clocked 72mins 55seconds to take a very creditable 9th place. Unfortunately weather conditions were very poor, with torrential rain and a very strong head wind throughout the race. Edinburgh is not an out and back course, it's one direction only, and unfortunately the rain and wind was into the runners faces for all of the 13.1mls. Still another great performance by Neil, which argues well for the rest of the season.

The Sunbeam House, Arklow 10k was also held today. Bernard Quinn ran 44.10, over a very tough course, to take 1st place in the O/60 category.

Thursday 22nd May, Training.

Tonight we had another great turnout, 30 in total, for our Thursday training session. Our thanks to Dominic and Jason, with their help we were able to divide into 3 separate groups. It was great to see Jason back, fully recovered from his recent injury and Emer, who has been unable to attend over the past few weeks. We also welcome some new faces to our Fit4life group, Rachel, Ruth, Cara and Lorraines friend (sorry I can't remember your name). Hopefully they enjoyed the evening and will return next week for more of the same.
