Race Report
A huge congratulations to James, Bobby, Niamh and Eleanor who competed so well at the National unevens cross-country championships yesterday. To say that the underfoot conditions were challenging would be an understatement. A large portion of the course was basically a mud-bath!! But it didn’t faze our guys too much, in particular James who ran a brilliant race winning another National medal, this time silver, he also led the Leinster province home to gold. Niamh too put in a great performance coming home 24th and was the 5th Leinster runner. Well done to all the athletes who competed throughout the xcountry season, in the counties, league races, Leinsters and Nationals, you all put in amazing performances and the results this year really proves that.

Volunteers
Thanks again to the parents who have volunteered to help out at training. Without your assistance we would not be able to keep accepting new members. We will keep the appeal going for parental assistance, every week as we keep growing with 108 registered juveniles with the club, and in order to maintain the smooth running of our training sessions we need help. You do NOT have to be a runner, all you have to do is provide encouragement and support to our young athletes. Please feel free to speak to any of our coaches about volunteering.
Race Report
Well done to all our athletes who took part in the Juvenile League Round 5 in Bray last Friday 6 December. We had 14 athletes who competed and did Bray Runners proud. Niamh Graham came 2nd in the U8 Girls race (400m) closely followed by Lucy Holland. In the U10 Girls race (800m) Isla Graham was first of the Bray Runners to finish in a large field of 41. Super performances also from Nicoleta Captari, Lily Mulholland and Chloe Enright in this race.
Next was the Boys U10 (800m), where Ryan Egan, having taken the first corner very wide, made a very impressive surge to come from the back of the field and overtake all but one athlete to finish in 2nd place. Well done Ryan! Feidhlim Harvey had another great race to finish 6th. Adonai Sugrue and Oisin Whelan also put in great efforts and finished comfortably in the middle of the large field of 37 athletes. The Boys U12 race was a tough one with Aaron Fitzsimons of Inbhear Dee leading the field at a blistering pace but closely followed by our own Aaron Egan. Great training for Aaron who will represent the club at the nationals this weekend in Dunboyne.
Adam Craxton also had a fine run and his consistency at training since joining the club is paying off! In the U14 Girls race Eile Kennedy had a great race to finish in 2nd position. Dara McGrandles also a recent recruit to the club took part in the U14 Boys race (1600m) and finished 11th in a tough race. Well done Dara!
These races are a great introduction to cross-country for all our athlete and each athlete gets a certificate on race completion. The emphasis for these races is on athlete participation rather than on winning so we encourage all our athletes to take part.
Registrations
All athletes must be registered in order to run outside. This is for the athletes own safety as we are training on the roads. If you are not registered you will not be allowed to run outside but you can remain in the hall.
Training
Tuesday training will continue in Woodbrook College tomorrow from 6.50 – 8.00pm.
Thursday training will be on the promenade in Bray, meeting at the boathouse coffee shop 7-8pm (Southern end of the prom). This session is open to all athletes born in 2008 or earlier
Please keep an eye out on the Whats App groups for details of the Sunday run
