Training Times 13th to 20th March


Training this week is as normal on Tuesday at Woodbrook College 6:50pm - 8pm until the end of the month. €1.
Friday training goes ahead on St. Patrick's day, but this will take place in the People's park in Bray from 5:30-6:30pm (while it's bright), and NOT at the track in Greystones.
Wicklow Track and Field Championships 
The date for the Wicklow Track and Field Championships has been set (13 and 14 May) This is open to all our juvenile members and it would be great to see a big turnout from Bray Runners across all the events, including sprints, middle distance, hurdles, long jump, high, jump, javelin, shot putt etc.! We will train at the track on Saturday afternoons / evenings from April onwards so our athletes have a chance to practice the events they are most interested in, so keep an eye out for updates on that!

Another Pb for Ashling at Nat Masters Indoors.

On Sunday last, 5th March, Ashling Smith ran an excellent new 1500mtr indoor Pb of 5.06 at the National Masters Indoor C/Ships in Athlone. Ashling finished in 4th place in her age category in a top quality field.

We will be changing the training locations around a little bit at the end of the month - so keep an eye out for those changes closer to the time.

Ashling Smith 2nd in Leinster Masters 1500mtrs

Congratulations to Ashling Smith who won the silver medal in the 1500mtrs at the Leinster Masters Indoor C/ships which were held in Abbotstown on Sunday 26th Feb. Ashling ran an an excellent new indoor Pb of 5min 12sec.
Well done also to Dominic Horan, who ran a nice training run on Saturday 25th Feb., 88.56 and finished 2nd 0/40 at the Wicklow Hospice Half Marathon. We wish Dominic well as he enters the final stages of his preparations for the Rotherdam Marathon.

2016 Awards Night.

The annual Bray Runners Awards night was held on Thursday 23rd Feb., The recipients of the awards for 2016 were;

Personality of the Year;   Andrea Murphy.

Barry Keane Award;       Richard Kavanagh.

Enniscorthy 10k and Armagh 5k

Well done to all Bray Runners and Sli Cualann athletes who took part in the Enniscorthy10k. Jean O'Kennedy was 1st 0/50 in a time of 45.47, and was also part of the Sli Cualann women's team who won the team prize. Ann Marie Kenny; Lynne Duffy and Martha O'Neill were the other members. ELaine Casey ran a new Pb of 53,52. 
Stephen O'Kennedy ran 36,36: Dominic Horan 37,06; Paul Allen 41,34: Jason O'Connor 45.02: Peter Doran 52.58 Pb; Paul Gannon 53.00 Pb and Richard Kavanagh 43.01 and 1st 0/60.

Mick Clohisey, Raheny Shamrocks, was first athlete home in 29.59 and Meghan Ryan, DSD AC, was first woman in 36.46. Full results can be found at;

The Brooks Armagh 5k was held on Thursday 16th Feb. We had two athletes take part in what is one of the most competive 5k's in the world. Neil Wiktorski ran a new Pb of 14.58 and Gary Condon ran 15.51, excellent running from both. Full results can be found at;
