Moone Kilomarathon

27/09 - Moone Kilomarathon 26.2km @ 2:40: 07
What started out a cold, overcast morning, soon became a beautiful hot day. Scenic route out in the Kildare countryside, with some gentle rolling hills to add a bit of challenge to the course. The finish was tough, a nice long hill, but there was plenty of cheering from spectators and runners already finished, to give that final bit of motivation needed to dig deep for one final burst of energy. The organisers were brilliant with all the extra water stations along the route to compensate for the unseasonably hot weather of late. Great fun, I can recommend this race to anyone wanting to step beyond half marathon distance, or looking for a longer run to prep for Dublin Marathon next year. Angela Ross Innes.
