I have been running on and off since I was a young girl but never competed until I ran the Berlin marathon in 1996 in a time of 3h37mins. At the time, I was living in Berlin and had joined a running group who trained in a local park. I was also a member of Aldershot and Farnham District Athletics Club in Surrey, Uk in 1998 while I was there for 6 months with work.    

I joined Bray Runners briefly in 2004, ran with them for 6 months before the demands of child-rearing took over. I ran with a group from Killiney Castle leisure club for a couple of years when time allowed. The leisure club’s creche was a God send! The main running focus of this group was to run hills, hills and more hills. I then rejoined Bray Runners in the winter of 2009 and started doing a few road races and the Wicklow cross country races.

§       Ballycotton 10mile - 69m 54s  

§          DUNSHAUGLIN 10 K -     40M 56S

Sh   Shanganagh 5k- 19m 33s

 

 A typical training week at the moment is, 4 days, 1 fast session, 1 long run (up to 1hour 30mins) and 2 easy days (or not so easy, depending on who I’m running with!)

 

Goals for 2013

A sub 40min 10km would be lovely!
