National Masters XC

Well done to our 2 ladies who took part in the National Masters Cross Country C/ships in Dundalk on 3rd  February 2019. Ashling Smith finished 28th overall and 4th in her age category and Mary Hayde, who finished off an excellent first season of C/C, in finishing 14th in her age category. Together with Catherine O'Connor, 21st O/a and 8th in age category and Ann Marie Kenny, 39th O/a and 13th in age category, they helped the Sli Cualann team to an excellent 7th place and the County team to 4th. Congratulations to our fellow Sli Cualann athletes who also took part, Michael Byrne won Gold in his age category and Dessie Shorten, 4th in age cat, and William Belton, 10th in his category.

Excellent results also from our athletes who took part in the Trim 10ml. Ian McGrath ran an excellent new Pb of 54.51, finishing 6th overall and 1st in his age category. Joe Cawley ran a very tidy 59.49. Jean O'Kennedy ran a new Pb of 74.45 and finished 2nd in her age category. Siobhan Butler was well pleased with 81.47. Great to see Charlote Stevens, back racing, running a fine 83.27 and 6th in age category. Peter Doran, also on the comeback trail ran 89.16. Fine runs also from our fellow Sli Cualann athletes, Alan Dalton 58.30, Aonghus O'Briain 69.30, Michael Priest 71.18, Donna Quinn 72.49 and Carol Costello 74.05.
Well done also to our good friends Helen Murphy who ran an excellent 69.36 and Grainne Butler who was well pleased with her 81.46. These are the results we have to hand.
Well done also to ALL our athletes who took part in the Shanganagh Parkrun on Saturday, fine performances from all, despite the very low temperature. Good to see Des O'Hare and Jason O'Connor back racing again after a lengthy lay off, and great to see Aoife Boyle running 24.00, her fastest 5k since April '17.
