Weekend 27th/28th.
On Saturday 27th Sept the Kilomarathon (26.2k) was held in Moone, Co. Kildare. The race winner was Tudor Moldovan, Clonliffe Harriers. in a time of 1hr. 30.41. The winner of the womens race was Pauline Curley, in 1hr.40.46. Angela Ross Innes ran 2hr.40. 07 warming up nicely for her 10k in Thurles tomorrow. Angela, as usual, has sent us an excellent race report which can be seen in our race report section.
On Sunday 28th Sept., the Tipperary Womens 10k was held in Thurles. A number of our athletes made the trip and all were well pleased with their days work. Suzanne Foot finished in 5th place in 40.53, a fine effort, considering Suzanne has been nursing an injury over the past week or so. Siobhan Butler finished in a very impressive 8th place in a time of 45.38. A new Pb for Siobhan, and over 3 minutes faster than this race 12 months ago. Emer Hynes recorded an excellent 49.51, Diana Doll, 50.40, continued her comeback to racing. Sandra Brady ran 52.32, also continues to bring her times down, as she returns from injury. Angela Ross Innes, ran 54.51, her 2nd best 10k just 24 hours after running the Moone Kilomarathon. The race was won by Siobhan O'Doherty in 36.53. Well done to all who took part. Highlights of the race will be shown on Irish TV, channel 191 on Sky, on Saturday next at 20.30.
