Fit4life 5k. Thursday 4th Sept.
On behalf of Denis, Chairman Bray Runners, we would like to thank Everybody, too numerous to name, who helped to make tonight's race a great success. Without your help it would not be possible to host an event like this. Well done to the Sli Cualann committee members for their excellent work in ensuring registration and results etc., were completed with expert efficiency.
We had a large number of athletes taking part, some great performances, all recording excellent times, and a number posting new pb's.
2 Pbs that stand out are Ana Molina, 26.46 and Elaine Nuzun, 26.47 both taking huge chunks off their previous best, which they recorded earlier this year. Jackie O.Neill also recorded a Pb of 30.13. Another time to take note of was Aishling Smith's 21.38, 3rd 0/40, and running her first 5k in a long time. Our juniors also recorded some excellent times, Cian Galligan, 21.56; Sadhbh O'Loan 22.22, 2nd Junior Girls; Shauna Galligan, 3rd Junior Girls, 22.36; Jack Parker, 23.54; Adam Walsh, 25.53; Matt Nalty, 25.57; Natasha Stanley, 26.50; Hannah Gruebseh, 26.52; Emily Gruebseh, 28.55.
Bill Stanley ran a fine 18.17 to take 3rd O/40, Tom Cavanagh, 21.17, Angela Ross Innes, 26.58; Rachel Daly, 27.51; Cara Barry, 29.38; Catherine Cronin and Emer Farrell both running 31.46; Mary Hourihan, 33.28. Lesley Moore, 26.28, 3rd Senior Women and Angela Groome 31.31, were also well pleased with their times.
