GREAT PERFORMANCES FROM OUR JUVENILES.
The Fit4Life 5k race last Thursday, hosted by the club, proved a great success, with some fantastic performances by club juveniles. Thomas Quill was the first juvenile to cross the line in a great time of 20:18, mixing it with the top senior athletes over the first km before dropping back to a more realistic pace. Thomas was followed by Cian Galligan, Ben Adams, Jack Parker, Matt Nalty and Adam Walsh and Dave Carraher all with very impressive performances for so early in the season.
Once again the girls blazed the trail however with the top three juvenile girl positions all claimed by Bray runners. Sadbh O'Loan held off an incredible finishing charge from Shauna Galligan over the final 200m. Both athletes recording the same time at 22:08 but with Sadbh awarded the honours in a photo finish. Hannah Greubsch (11) came in third, showing signs of her potential - definitely an athlete for the future. Great performances also by Natasha Stanley, Emily Greubsch and Siobhan Carroll all looking comfortable over the 5k distance.
It has been very rewarding to see the progress this group has made over the first few weeks of training and to see signs of them starting to train and compete as a team. We are looking forward with great expectation to the season ahead.
Well done to all who took part and a big thank you to all those who came along to help out and support the athletes.
