We had a fantastic turnout of athletes at the club 5km and 3km H/Cap Championships last Thursday, it was a great evening with over 60 athletes in total taking part. There were many superb performances which bodes well for the upcoming cross country season. Two standout performances in the 5km were by Matthew Daly who ran a great time coming home just inside 20 minutes and Hannah Kelly who ran a superb 20.47. First, second and third in the 5km went to Hannah Foot, Hannah Kelly and Aoife Carter.

The 3km also produced some great results with everyone running really well. Young Aaron Egan put in a great performance as too did James Foot only a week after his superb time in Meath. It was great to see Mia McEntee, Adam Craxton and Dara McGrandles being awarded with trophies coming home in first, second and third respectively.

Well done to all our athletes who took part in this event it was great to see so many athletes racing in the park and to all the parents and friends who provided vocal support it really was a fantastic event.
Training
Training will continue each Tuesday from 6.50-8pm for all athletes, meeting by the astro pitch in Shanganagh park.
Thursday training Shanganagh Park 7-8pm open to all athletes born in 2007 or earlier meeting by the astro pitch.
This weeks Sunday run with Inbhear Dee will be in Glendalough, meeting at the Woollen Mills carpark at 9.20am for a 9.30 start. It is going to be a fun-run followed by a swim and picnic. It would be great to see as many of our athletes turn out as possible. This is open to anyone running U12's and up. There will be a 30 minute run for the younger athletes and a 45 min run for the older athletes (with a warm-up and warm down). Lifts are available for those requiring one, please speak to Suzanne or Emma.
As the cross country season is rapidly approaching it is important for all athletes to take part in at least one of the weekly Thursday or Sunday runs in addition to the Tuesday training.
For our younger athletes we would encourage you to take part in the junior parkrun (2km) held at 9.30am each Sunday morning in the Peoples Park in Bray.
There is a pair of size 6 spikes in excellent condition looking for a new home. If anyone is interested in these please speak to Ciara at Tuesday or Thursday training.

Thank you so much to the parents who recently volunteered to help out at training. Without your assistance we would not be able to keep accepting new members. We will keep the appeal going for parental assistance: We now have 98 registered juveniles with the club and in order to maintain the smooth running of our training sessions we really need more help. You do NOT have to be a runner, all you have to do is provide encouragement and support to our young athletes. Please feel free to speak to any of our coaches about volunteering.
