Results; Dominic Breaks 3hrs in Kildare Marathon
At todays (Sunday 12th May) Kildare Marathon Dominic Horan put in a great performance to record a time of 2hrs 57mins 50sec and 9th place overall. Gary Condon, 2.58.54; and Ian McGrath, 2.58.58 both ran as 3hr pacers. The race was won by Gary O'Hanlon, Clonliffe in 2.33.08, and the Womens race was won by Pauline Curley in 2.55.45. In the Half Marathon, also in Kildare, Joe Cawley finished 3rd overall in 1.18.37. This race was won by J.C. Castro, North Clare AC, in 1.15.52, and the womens race was won by Nollaig O'Neill in 1.26.21.
The third race in Kildare today was a 10k event, and it was great to see Neil Wiktorski making a comeback from a recent injury. Neil finished 4th overall in 34.29. The winner was Brian McMahon, Clonliffe, in 33.11, with Paula Grant, Portlaoise AC winning the womens race in, 40.35. Full results can be found on www.kildaremarathon.ie
Also today, Lucan Harriers, Tom Byrne Memorial 5k was held. Joe Kelly ran a very impressive 18.11, equally impressive was Bill Stanley, 18.14, and Diarmuid Potts also continued his fine form with a time of 19.41. The race winner was Conor Dooney, Raheny Shamrocks, in 15.28, with the ladies race being won by Sarah Mulligan, DSD, in 17.24. Full results on precisiontiming.net
In the FIT MAGAZINE 10k, held in the phoenix Park today, Paul Humpries ran 48.21. The race was won by Mark Christie in 30.17, and Aoife Talty took the womens prize in 35.11. Full results on www.fitmagazine.ie
Earlier in the week we had the ESB 5k Beach Race in Sandymount. Martin Francis ran 18.46, and Bernard Quinn ran 21.31. The race was won by Kevin O,Brien in 16.30. Full results on www.bhaa.ie
